ABOUT
Angie Bechanan is a native of Palatka, FL. Art was merely a hobby for her during childhood until she met the camera in her early twenties. Consequently, Angie discerns photography as having a significant place in her life-calling. Since studying photography at the University of North Florida under the Bachelor of Fine Arts program, she has used her talents in art and photography in an effort to help downtrodden and needy people by providing professional images to organizations with the same aim. Most recently, Angie has made journeys to India and Haiti through a partnership with Hopegivers International who feature her images prominently on their website, in their quarterly journal and in other promotional materials. www.hopegivers.org
Angie’s journalism influenced photography lends itself to tell stories of various people and cultures. Her positive, relaxed and patient attitude enables genuine feelings, personality and tangible emotions to be captured within the photograph. Whether it reveals intelligence in the expression of a small orphan, the musical prowess of a high school senior, or peace that emanates from a small trail winding through a forest, her photos invite you on a compelling, inspiring journey through the human experience.
Future projects include visits to India, Haiti, Malawi, Cuba and any other doors that open during this year.
Testimonials
"After just a few visits to our projects overseas, Angie has single-handedly turned one of our biggest weaknesses into one of our biggest strengths. Her compelling images convey what is impossible to communicate through mere words--her pictures intimately and immediately connect supporters to the living, breathing people in need of our support."
